Your WordPress site
If we host or maintain a WordPress site for you, the portal gives you a window into what we're doing behind the scenes — site health, plugins, and a record of recent maintenance.
Where to find it
- Hosting lists the websites we look after for you and shows whether each one is up and responding.
- Plugins shows the MoonFactory plugins running on your sites.
- Site Maintenance shows a log of automated maintenance work we've done.
Site health
The Hosting page gives you a quick at-a-glance status for each website. A healthy site is one that's:
- Online and responding to visitors.
- Running on a supported version of WordPress.
- Free of known security alerts.
- Backing up on schedule.
If something needs attention, you'll see a warning indicator with a short explanation. Most warnings get resolved automatically by our maintenance routines — we only flag things that we genuinely need you to know about.
Installed plugins
Plugins are small add-ons that add features to a WordPress site. The Plugins page lists every MoonFactory plugin running on your sites and the version each one is on.
You'll typically see two MoonFactory plugins:
- MoonFactory Connector — the bridge that links your site to your portal account so you can view content, analytics, and maintenance from one place.
- MFX Sentinel — our security and monitoring plugin that watches for problems and helps us keep your site safe.
We manage these plugins for you — installing, updating, and configuring them as part of our service. You don't need to do anything yourself.
Other (community) plugins running on your site are visible in your WordPress admin. We can see what's installed and help you with them, but they aren't directly managed from the portal.
Maintenance logs
The Site Maintenance page shows you a record of the automated work we've done on each of your sites — usually weekly or monthly. Typical entries include:
- WordPress core updates.
- Plugin and theme updates.
- Database cleanup.
- Security scans.
- Backup confirmations.
- Performance optimizations.
For each entry you'll see when it ran, what was done, and whether it completed successfully. If anything failed, we follow up automatically — the log just gives you visibility into what's happening.
What we manage vs. what you manage
MoonFactory handles:
- Hosting infrastructure (servers, networking, storage).
- WordPress core and plugin updates.
- Security monitoring and patches.
- Automated backups.
- Performance tuning.
- The MoonFactory plugins on your site.
You manage:
- Your content — pages, posts, products, media — through the WordPress admin as you always have.
- The day-to-day things people see on the front of your site.
If you'd like us to take on more (for example, writing or publishing content for you), submit a ticket and we can talk about it.
Logging into WordPress
The portal doesn't replace WordPress — it sits alongside it. You'll still log into your WordPress admin (usually yoursite.com/wp-admin) to edit content. If you need a new login or have lost yours, send us a ticket.
