Analytics
The Analytics page shows you how your website is performing — who's visiting, what they're looking at, and how that's changing over time.
What you're seeing
When you open Analytics, you'll see a summary for each website on your account, plus the option to drill into one site at a time.
Here's what each number means:
- Page views — the total number of pages loaded. If one visitor reads three pages, that's three page views.
- Visitors — the number of unique people who came to your site in the period. One person reading three pages is one visitor.
- Visits (sessions) — a continuous burst of activity from one visitor. If someone comes back the next day, that's a second visit.
- Bounce rate — the percentage of visits where someone landed on one page and left without going anywhere else. A high bounce rate isn't always bad — for a contact page or a blog post it can be totally normal.
- Average session duration — how long the typical visit lasts.
- Active visitors — people on your site right now (in the last few minutes).
Changing the time range
Use the date range picker at the top of the page to switch between:
- Today
- Last 24 hours
- Last 7 days
- Last 30 days (the default)
- Last 90 days
Each chart and table updates to match the period you've picked. The summary numbers also include a comparison to the previous period — for example, "page views in the last 30 days are up 12 percent vs. the 30 days before that."
Real-time
The Active visitors counter shows people on your site right now. This is handy for watching the response to a campaign or social post in real time.
Page-level detail
For sites on the premium analytics tier, you can also see:
- Top pages — which pages got the most views.
- Top referrers — where your visitors came from (Google, social media, direct, etc.).
- Browsers, operating systems, and devices — what your audience is using.
- Countries — where in the world your visitors are.
If you'd like this level of detail and don't have it yet, send us a ticket about upgrading.
Privacy and consent
We respect visitors' privacy. Analytics only counts visitors who have agreed to analytics cookies on your site. Anyone who declines simply isn't measured.
This means your numbers may look lower than the actual total of people visiting, especially in regions where users are very privacy-conscious. The trade-off is worth it: your analytics are honest, lawful, and don't harm your visitors' trust in your brand.
Why my numbers might look low
A few common reasons:
- Consent — as above, only consenting visitors are counted.
- Ad blockers and privacy browsers — some browsers block analytics scripts entirely, even with consent.
- You and your team — if you're regularly visiting your own site from your office, that traffic may or may not be excluded depending on your setup.
If something looks dramatically off — like the number suddenly dropped to zero — send us a ticket and we'll investigate.
Data retention
We keep analytics data for the long term so you can compare year-over-year trends. If you ever want to export your data or have it removed, just ask.
